5 Ways to Keep Going

Do you sometimes feel like you’ve really dropped the ball on your goals? Sometimes we just look in the mirror and don’t like what we see, literally and figuratively. We said we were going to do something, started enthusiastically, and then somehow it petered out.

If this is you, don’t feel bad, we all do this, it’s human nature. But here are five ways that I use to help keep the chaos from overwhelming my progress.

  1. Use time blocking, and stick to it. It’s all very well to make pretty coloured blocks in your planner, but you need to follow them.
  1. Set timers when going on social media. Social media are deliberately designed to be rabbit holes that pull you down and never let you out again. You can enjoy them without becoming addicted, but you need to use tools for that. Set a timer and pay attention to it.
  1. Turn off screens an hour before bed. This is probably the hardest one of all, but it’s really, really important. Don’t scroll through Instagram or read the bad news on Twitter before going to sleep. You don’t need to load your subconscious with that stuff when it’s going to process your day.
  1. Write 10 gratitudes daily. This is a great way to lift your mood if you’ve got a little despondent about how far you have to go.
  1. Find an accountability partner, and report to them daily. It’s amazing what we will do for someone else that we won’t do for ourselves.

I hope you found this helpful! What do you do to keep yourself on track?
