Come Learn With Me!

Brown bare mountain against blue sky with white cloud. Black words say Under the Mountain Subversive Talmud for Godd-Wrestlers

Are you wrestling with the Divine? Do you feel like the Jewish tradition isn’t answering your questions in a way that works for you? Are you looking for a radically inclusive community of Godd*-wrestlers, where we can search together, with support and love and awesome tools? Then this class may be for you.

What is it? It’s a SVARA-style Talmud class exploring how the Rabbis of the Talmud destabilised their own project, and how their wrestling can help us look for answers to painful questions about Judaism today. Because it’s part of my SVARA practicum, it’s completely free!

What is SVARA? SVARA is a traditionally radical, queer yeshiva meant especially for those who feel marginalised by the mainstream tradition. Check them out here.

When is it? Four consecutive Wednesday evenings in March (5, 12, 19, 26), at 7 pm Central time.

Where is it? Online. Registrants will receive the link shortly before we begin.

Whom is it for? Anyone who is genuinely curious about Judaism and what it has to offer to queer and otherwise marginalised folks today. But you don’t have to be queer or Jewish to come – just open and willing to learn.

Curious? Here’s the registration link. Warning – the questionnaire is a little lengthy, because I want to make sure you have the best possible experience. But I’m sure you’ll find that it is worth it.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

*That’s not a typo. It’s a way of writing that particular English name for the Divine in a way that evokes the Goddess (or Goddexx, thank you R Jericho Vincent) as well. Credit to Savina Tubal, of blessed memory, via Maggid Eli Andrew Ramer.
