More About Patience

About a month ago, shortly after the beginning of the lockdown here in Manitoba, I posted a video talking about patience.

At that time, we had no idea how long it was going to last. We still don’t really know, but we do know that we seem to have done a pretty good job of flattening the curve, thank goodness. Now we are looking at the light at the end of the tunnel, and it doesn’t seem to be an oncoming train, at least not at the moment.

Maybe we can talk about non-virus things for a while …

I was walking and listening to Gabby Bernstein the other day, and she was talking about her spiritually aligned action plan. It really appealed to me, and I wanted to share it with you.

Her plan has 3 components: alignment, action and patience.

  • Alignment: Check yourself and make sure that you are coming from a  place of service, not lack, fear or control. It’s OK for the service to be for yourself, because when you increase your own joy, you increase the joy in the world. But if you are trying to do something because you are afraid of losing love or trying to control others, you are not spiritually aligned. You are not coming from a good place. Think again about why you want what you want, and see if you can bring yourself into alignment. You will feel so much better.
  • Action: take action. You can’t just sit and chant, and hope that the universe will make the things that you want appear in front of you. As the saying goes, call upon G-d, but row away from the rocks. People sometimes forget to implement this part.
  • Patience: This is the hardest part. You can’t force things – you can’t force your hormones, you can’t force your customers, you can’t force the Universe. You have to be patient. You have to have faith that the things you want will eventually happen, if you continue to take the right action, from a place of service and alignment.

As I return myself to the place of taking impeccable care of myself, which I had not been doing for the last six weeks or so, it is hard for me to be patient. I would like to wake up in the morning and find that everything is as I wish it to be. But the world doesn’t work like that. It takes time, effort and patience to make lasting change, whether it’s in your own body or in the world of business.

How about you, are you ready to jump into spiritually aligned action, and bring yourself back into impeccable self-care? Lord knows we need it.
