It’s a short one this time, but I think it’s quite important.
I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, and I saw this picture posted by John Assaraf. Of course I completely agree with this as it stands, but it also led me down a different thought path.
We are all experts at detecting our own flaws. We can effortlessly let you know exactly what is wrong with us, and what needs fixing. But how many of us are aware of the superpowers that lie behind these flaws, just like the broken English indicates that the person speaks another language?
Are you restless and easily bored? Maybe you are entrepreneurial and creative.
Are you impatient and quick to anger? Maybe you are passionate and enthusiastic.
Are you shy and introverted? Maybe you are a good listener.
Can you see where I’m going with this? We are trained to criticise ourselves and others, but I think it’s a good exercise to stop and look for the good things. Ideally we would move beyond judging ourselves and others, but it’s a first step.
I’d love to know what superpowers are hiding behind your perceived flaws. Feel free to let me know!
