In particular, I want to talk about making your life count. So many of us go through life only half-alive, and I’m definitely including certain parts of my life in that indictment. Whether we are depressed, stressed or just overwhelmed, somehow we are always regretting the past or worrying about the future, and the present just slips through our fingers. Then it’s gone forever, and what do we have to show for it?
Lately I’ve been paying attention to a group of people called Misfits. No, I’m not talking about the band or the TV show – but the people who cluster around an interesting guy called A.J. Leon. He abandoned what he claims was an average six-figure career in the financial sector (um, most people would not call that average …) to “nomad around the world” and do good deeds. He’s organised building a windmill for a village in Kenya and he’s supporting an ongoing indiegogo for a coffee roaster in Laos (and so should you!!).
There’s no question that what AJ Leon is doing counts. There’s no question that what Tyson Adams is doing counts. These guys are special but not that much more special than you and me. We can do things that count, too.
How are we going to do that?
