First of all, if you aren’t interested in BlackBox, you will be delighted to know that I have created a newsletter for it, and will no longer be putting blatantly BlackBox stuff on the blog itself (although I will be making pages on the website).

I do, however, intend to explore the whole network marketing phenomenon (which I know I’ve been talking about forever, but haven’t actually done anything about – so what else is new?). So there will be some business/marketing related stuff on the blog. Sorry about that. No LOLcats, though.

Of course, if you are interested in taking good care of your skin, or possibly in helping other people take good care of their skin, you might want to consider signing up for the newsletter. You’ll even get free shipping.

There’s a lot of interesting stuff going around right now about the changes Facebook has been making – for one thing, they’ve severely reduced the reach of business pages. That means that even though I have well over 100 people who “Like” my blog page, for example, posts that I make on that page will only be seen by maybe 5 of those. It’s very frustrating. There’s a great article by Carol Lynn Rivera about what to do in the post-Facebook era … worth reading for anyone who uses social media for anything beyond LOLcats.

I spend quite a lot of time on Twitter, but I have deliberately stayed away from sites such as Instagram and Pinterest. In particular, I’m concerned about copyright issues with the latter, and being more of a text kind of gal, I never saw much value in communicating by pictures. But now I think I’m going to have to venture into those waters, because I hope they will give me better results than Facebook.

What about you, have you tried out different kinds of social media? What do you think I should be doing?

Someone made a prototype plush and I never even got to see a picture of it. I would LOVE to see him in plush – I’d hug him, and squeeze him, and love him, and call him…Trockle. Not George.

Would you host a Traveling Trockle if I sent you one?

Latest stats seem to show Pinterest outperforming all the others in terms of actual purchases made after clicking a link from the social media site.

I think I need to make a Traveling Trockle. Kind of like a Flat Stanley… I also worry about images, but I generally use my own, or those clearly marked “creative commons” with the least restrictive usage rights, only. Or I Pin stuff from the parent site, if possible, or someone else’s Pinterest board (they can take or share the blame!)
